= UKMF English Junior Champion, Viet 'Bam Bam' Pham succeeded in bringing home from Darlington this tremendous much sort after belt. Lucy 'Good Night' Thorn also managed to bring home a win, with an astonishing 23 second knock out of her opponent.

= 'King of Kings' - Fight Night, will be held on the 21st November at our very own gym at the Howard Mallet Centre, Cambridge. This will be an intimate local fighters only show, with 6-8 Fights, a Chinese 'Awakening' Drum Ceremony, Chinese Lion Dance, Ring Girls, Interval Dancers, MC, DJ, Thai Food and Singha Beer/Water, all for £18.50.

There will only be 200 tickets available, on a first come first served basis. Get your tickets quick, and come support your fellow students, as they put it all on the line to show Cambridge what we are all about. Muay Thai!

= UKMF English Amateur Team Member, Viet 'Bam Bam' Pham will be joining the England team travelling to the IFMA World Championships this November in Bangkok, Thailand. Viet managed to secure his place on the team, by winning his elimination fight in July, then gaining a walk-through on the next English elimination event.

The club will be sponsoring his flights, tracksuit and competition wear for this event. I hope that you will all join us in congratulating Viet on this monumental opportunity for a seventeen year old lad. Good Luck Viet, and bring back the gold. You know you can do it!

= Next Free Induction, is on the 7th November, why not tell a friend!

= UKMF Judging and Formal Assessment, to be held on the 24th October is a must for anyone who wants to officiate on any of the UKMF sanctioned shows up and down the country. This is a great opportunity to get qualified and join the UKMF officials register.

The judging course is £10, and the formal assessment is £10, a total of £20, normally around £75 elsewhere. Let Kru Ryan know asap, if you are interested in attending.

= IFMA English Eliminations, on the 18th July here in Cambridge are to determine who will represent their country at the World Championships towards the end of the year in Thailand. (more info).

We currently have 30+ fights, including some of the countries best ranked champion fighters available. In order to discover who these champions are, then you have got to get yourself a ticket to the biggest English Amateur event ever.

Watch out for the all new team mascot and limited edition t-shirts, get yourself one and feel part of the team. Come on England!

= Next Free Induction, is on the 15th August, why not tell a friend!

= Fighters Fitness Test, will be on the Friday 10th July. Remember this is open to all students that want a bench mark to work from, the tests chosen are internationaly recognised in the fitness industry. Fight squad you need to bring your 'A' game as you are expected to beat your previous best.

= Grading Day, will be on the 11th July. If you are interested in grading and need help with any aspect of your grade, please feel free to ask any instructor or assistant instructor to help.

= New Flyers and Banners, are in and looking sharp. Come on in and get some, hand some out to friends, or leave them in your local haunts. It would be much appreciated.

= Walking with Lions Thailand Tour, this coming July is already looking to be a blast. There will be eleven students traveling to the Jitty gym in Bangkok for two weeks training and experiencing Thailand first hand. If you are interested in going with them, then please get in contact asap (more info).

= Handwrapping and Pre-fight Massage Course, will be held on the 29th August. These two hour courses cover everything that a gym or individual needs to know about preparing a fighter for competition, or for an individual to understand how to take care of themselves. If you are interested in attending, then please contact Kru Ryan.

= Lions Pride 2 Interclub, the first interclub of the year will be on the 22nd August '09 (more info), if you are interested in fighting please let us know, and if your not interested we hope to see you there supporting your team members. Remember ~ Train Smart, Fight Easy!

= Anuwat James Rudkin, my first born son arrived 6th June at 00:40. Weighing in at 4kg, a healthy, happy baby boy and mother returned home shortly afterwards with no complecations. Thankyou all for your patience, kind words and gifts over the last couple of months. Training, promoting, managing, refereeing and inventiveness will be back up to full speed this month.

= UKMF Amateur European Success, I had the privilege to manage the all new UKMF England amateur team during the IFMA European week long championship in Latvia.

Out of the nine team members that went, six of them brought back medals, which included two gold, three silver and one bronze.

This was the biggest haul of medals ever produced by the England team, and I am proud to recognise the achievement of our club, the fighters and training staff involved with putting together such a successful team (team picture).

= New Pad Blast Sessions, start on Tuesday 9th and Thursday 11th June at 8.15pm. These sessions are open to all, it will be a new and explosive workout guaranteed to have you working up a sweat and burning off 800-1000 calories.

= IFMA English Eliminations, on the 18th July and 24th October here in Cambridge are to determine who will represent their country at the World Championships towards the end of the year in Thailand. (more info).

From these two events fighters will also be picked to represent their country in Turkey (August), Greece (September) and still to be confirmed in Ireland (October/November). These small England teams will have their flights, accomodation and uniforms paid for.

Opportunities to travel and represent your country are now here, are you willing to put the effort in to secure your place on the team?

= Fighters Squad, is growing stronger and stronger. From the last selection I would like to welcome Ben Bussaman, the newest member to the squad. The fight squad has compulsary training Monday and Wednesday nights 8.30-10.30pm, all are welcome via an invitaion from Kru Ryan.

= Private Fighter Session, with one of our fight squad members. Thats right we are trialing out a new 1-2-1 session, specificaly for your needs. Why not book a private session with one of our Fight Squad members (Lucy, Viet, Alimamy), and have them home your skills. For only £15 an hour, it is a great opportunity to learn from the best fighters in the club.

To book a session, just ask one of the fighters when they are available, and then hey presto!

= United Kingdom MuayThai Federation, is the beginning of a new era for UK Muay Thai. The UKMF is the federation that will be taking our chosen sport into the Olympics, and I am proud to inform you of my new positions on the board of the UKMF.

I have been made head of amateur MuayThai for the United Kingdom, as well as making up the senior committee for rules, regulations, judges & referee's for the whole of the United kingdom.

In my role as the head of amateur MuayThai, I am focusing on developing the best England team ever to be produced by England at international competition. This also includes ensuring that Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have an amateur circuit for their fighters.

With my position on the RRJ&R's committee I am endeavouring that the future path of Muay Thai is directed in a way that will ensure that we as nation, will have fighters who can compete to the highest standard on the world platform.

= Fighters Squad, will be growing soon with a few more students being given the opportunity to join these select elite group of individuals. From the last selection I would like to welcome Mr 'T' and Ash Rai, the newest members to the squad. The all new Singto Fighter Squad rules can be found on the notice board, as determined by the squad themselves. The fight squad has compulsary training Monday and Wednesday nights 8.30-10.30pm.

= Singto Hardman challenges, we are introducing the all new physical challenges, set to test the fittest individuals. See if you can beat the challenges set and get your name in to the hall of fame, the targets can be found on the notice board.

= Praya Chang's, new training sessions. Make sure you go check out Jarek's sessions at the Manor Community College Gym on Arbury Road. Jarek has been working very hard to offer his new sessions on Tuesday and Thursday nights 7-8.30pm.

= Southampton University, has new training sessions being instructed by Ben Wilkins. Ben has been training under the Singto Trainee Instructor grades since early last year, and has now got his own club up and running. I would like to wish Ben the best of luck with his new club and session. Chok Dee.

= Singto Day Sessions, are changing to Tuesday and Thursday 12-2pm only.

= New Products, now in. There is an all new Singto Beenie hat, and Singto large towel, limited edition hoodies in camo, snake skin and glitter pink. Come and get these limited edition items before they all go.

= Updated Pages, location, image and events pages have all been updated.

= IFMA European Championships, I will be heading out with the newly formed UKMF Amateur English Team to Latvia in mid May as the England Team Manager. The training sessions will run as normal with no interuptions as Jarek, Reza, Tom and Alimany will be instructing in my abscence.

= Free Training Jacket, with every Platinum Plus Membership purchased. Alternatively why not pick up one of these jackets for only £15, normally £40 (limited stock available).

= New Sunday Session, starts 11am on the 1st February at the Howard Mallet Center.

= Basic Padman Course, will be held 8.30pm on the 2nd February. The course will run for 1.5 hours approx, and will cover all aspects required to hold the pads correctly and safely in class. (more info).

= Refereeing Experience, on the Muay Thai Legends show in Croydon 7th February. If you are interested in attending any of these shows, let me know as there are spaces left in my car, and tickets will be available from the club (more info).

= Thailand Tours '09, it's back and it's looking to be the biggest tour ever aranged by the club. With your continued persuasive requests, I have now decided to start running the tours again. The new tour will start on the 24th July, returning the 9th August.

In total at the moment there are some 25+ of you wanting to go, I have updated the www.thailandtours.co.uk website. The outline is as follows: based in Bangkok training at the world famous Jitty Gym, with ample opportunity to visit the sites and take the wonders of Thailand in.

= IFMA English Eliminations, goes from strength to strength. The next event being held on the 14th February is starting to look like the busiest event yet, with some 115 fighters putting their names forward. There are currently 64 fighters matched on this amateur event, with seven fighters from our own gym competing for their place on the England Squad. (more info).

We are currently looking to help build an English Team to go and compete at the European Cup (Germany) in May '09. There has been a fantastic response to these events, and I am doing my best to ensure that a qualifying team is picked to represent England. I am proud to annouced that there will be eight final elimination fights on the day, with the winners being offered a place on the IFMA English Amateur Team.

= Armoured Plated 2, is scheduled in for the 18th April. Be there, as full Muay Thai rules (elbows, knees, kicks and punches to the head allowed) in an interclub environment with no winners or losers right here in Cambridge on your doorstep. This will be the second in this new series of interclubs, and we are expecting it to be busy. If you are interested in taking part, let me know asap! (more info).

= No Training, on the 14th Februray due to the IFMA Amateur competition.

= Beginners to Advanced Sessions, are open to all levels. The only difference between the sessions, is the difficulty of technique being shown. It may take some longer than others to pick up a technique, and some may be able to do a million of the technique in a minute, whilst others struggle to do one.

However what is important, is that you feel you can attend any session you want to, and that you feel comfortable training in these sessions at your OWN pace! So why not come along, and try out a session you haven't been to before, be brave, try it, you might like it!
