In total at the moment there are some 20+ of you wanting to go, I am currently trying to update the www.thailandtours.co.uk website, so keep your eyes peeled for the details of the tour there. The outline is as follows: based in Bangkok training at the world famous Jitty Gym, with ample opportunity to visit the sites and take the wonders of Thailand in.

IFMA English Eliminations, goes from strength to strength. On the 18th October '08 we managed to host 21 fights (5 more than previously), with a alot of new supporting gyms. These events have had to move location yet again to be able to hold everyone in (it is still on the Manor College grounds, but now its in the new sports complex around the back).(more info)

We managed to raise a small amount of money for the English IFMA Team Fund, again a first for the UK. It is hoped with the continued support of the gyms, fighters and spectators, we may actualy manage to fund a full English Team to go and compete on the world stage.

The next event being held on the 14th February is starting to heat up already, with some 40+ fighters putting their names forward. We will also be putting a team of ten fighters out on this one, as it will be their first fight of 2009 (more info).

We are currently looking to help build an English Team to go and compete at the European Cup (Germany) in May '09. There has been a fantastic response to these events, and I am doing my best to ensure that a qualifying team is picked to represent England.

=4th December 2008
Armoured Plated, was a concept I had been throwing around for a couple of months in 2008. After much discussion with many of the trainers who might be interested, we decided to take the plunge and host a trial event in December.

You see the difference with this event is that it allowed full Muay Thai rules to be used (elbows, knees, kicks and punches to the head allowed) in an interclub environment with no winners or losers. This was a first for the UK and it turned out to be a very effective and succesful test.

I believe that we have now helped create a stepping stone for students who wish to take part in amateur competition, to now enter the ring with a little more technical ability with elbows and knees, than they might have with the normal interclubs (elbows, knees, kicks and punches to the head are not allowed). Armour Plated 2 has already been penciled in for 18th April (more info).

=3rd December 2008
King of the Ring Series, saw some 500+ fighters, gyms and sepctators travelling from far and wide to support these events.I would personally like to thank all the gyms, trainers, spectators and fighters for your support, we hope to see you in the new year!

Our new interclub for 2009 has been aptly named 'Lions Pride', it will be run through out the year to bring more of you into the ring environment that is Muay Thai. The first interclub of the year will be on the 15th March '09 (more info), we hope to see you all there, and to see if we can break the 30 Singto fighters on one event record. Remember ~ Train Smart, Fight Easy!

We have invested some £180 in a new projector to show these fights to you in near cinema size action. Along with the amped stereo that will be bringing you the true atmosphere of the crowed, we believe you will think your right there, ring side.

Chok Dee's Dida Diafat, could well be heading our way at the end of May. Dida stars as himself in the film 'Chok Dee ~ The Kickboxer', a story of a young man who finds himself sharing a jail cell with an old Muay Thai champion. After several years of incaseration, Dida makes his way to Thailand to explore the art first hand from the Thai trainers. He eventualy goes on to become one of the first westerners to win a title belt at the Radjadamnurn boxing stadium.

This is a fantastic movie, a definate four star movie, one not to be missed. The film has its official release on on May 30th at the Tiger Film Festival in London. And we have been given 3 signed dvd's by Dida, to give away in a competition at the beginning of next month.

We are currently in talks with one of Dida's PR guys, in the hopes that we can have him make a guest appearance at our gym shortly after the Tiger Film Festival. After discussing with many of you over the last month it seems that something was a miss, now I hope that all of your fears and frustrations have been solved with the new grading handouts and website update of the grading pages.

I think that grading is one of the most important aspects of Muay Thai, especialy for those of you who do not intend to compete. I am willing to work with anyone struggerling with their grade or technique, just ask!

I would like to see as many of you as possible on the 21st June testing yourselves, trying to perfect your techniques between now and then. I know you can do it, just trust in your abilities as I do, and you will be very surprised at your success.

Phoenix Fitness, over the last 3 months I have been back at school. I have been studying hard to become an Advanced Personal Trainer, Sports Massage Therapist, Nutritional Advisor, Gym/Fitness Instructor and Lifestyle Manager.

As you can imagine the 7.30am start and 10pm finish has left me with very little time to do anything other than study. Hence no recent news, web site updates, club advertising, seminars, club outings, gradings and so on. Please accept my appologies!

However over the next couple of months as I start up my new business Phoenix Fitness ~ a Body and Mind Improvement Specialist company, hopefully I will be able to once again concentrate fully on my life's passion. Muay Thai!

What does this mean to you, well I will now be able to offer home personal training sessions, online nurtitional advice, injury recovery massage and so much more. Once the new website www.phoenix-fitness.co.uk is up and running you will be able to see what will be available to you.

The fighter squad has already felt the change in training, as my skills have developed more and more. To date several fighters have lost 10% body fat, gained 5% muscle mass, recovered from long term injury, me myself I have lost over 9 kilos in weight and this is only from the 7th January!!

I am currently in talks with Cambridge Rowing club, Cambridge Cats (American Football), St.Ives Stags (Rugby) and many other accredited clubs to help build my portfolio through out 2008. Why? I am currently working on getting my Masters in Personal Training, achieving my Sport UK Coaches qualification and much more.

If you are interested in a Personal Trainer, a Nutrition Plan that really works, or ridding yourself of that back ache through Theraputic massage for ever, contact me today!

Singto Fighters Squad, the all new Singto Fighters Squad is going from strength to strength. The idea of the Fighters Squad is to bring together those students who want to focus on comepeting. Already I feel the team has bonded well, and are now seeing quite clearly what is required of them, and the results are starting to show.

Although we have around 30 students who compete on interclubs and shows, their are only a dedicated few who compete every month, and want to become the next champion. Its these few who have been chosen to represent us and are honored to be able to wear the Singto Fighter Squad uniform.

Only those chosen to be in the squad can wear the new uniform, and only those that stay committed will be given the opportuntity to test themselves on a regular basis. So to the mighty seven; Viet, Dave, Dalius, Charlotte, Adrian, Micheal and Terry I salute you!

Well done, keep up the hard training, and i'll see you in the ring Saturday.

=5th March 2008

Alot of lessons where learned and taken on board, we will be introducing the Body Boxing and Carrasel training employed by Gary into one of our Saturday sessions soon.

This is only the start of things to come, as the year progresses the fighter squad will be given the opportunity to train with Rajasack Sorvorapin (Bangkok), Master Toddy (Las Vegas), Ramon Dekkers (Holland) and Remy Bonjaski (France).

The fighter squad is open to anyone who can prove that they want to compete seriously. If you are one of those people contact me asap. Be warned you will be put to the test!
